Digital & Technology Degree Apprenticeship 2025 - Worthing

Location: Worthing

Intakes: September 2025

DEGREE APPRENTICESHIP

You will work towards a full-time job and study towards a degree apprenticeship with Sheffield Hallam University, pursuing a BSc (Hons) in Digital and Technology Solutions. The 3-year program includes an initial 12-week bootcamp on campus, followed by part-time blended learning combining on-campus and online sessions while working full-time. You will learn industry-standard technologies and modules such as programming fundamentals, systems analysis and design, database administration, and software engineering. The degree concludes with a final project in collaboration with Capgemini's business.

As an Apprentice Software Engineer, you will be part of a Scrum team, collaborating with senior and junior engineers who share your enthusiasm for Agile practices, high-quality software, and innovative problem-solving. Your responsibilities include:

  • Designing, developing, and delivering software solutions to meet client needs.
  • Applying Agile methodologies to improve productivity and communication.
  • Learning from experienced engineers and mentoring junior team members.
  • Engaging in technical certifications and professional development.
  • Participating in diverse projects to challenge and expand your skills.
YOUR PROFILE

To qualify, you should have:

  • 7 GCSEs including Maths and English (grades 4-9).
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, Python, JavaScript, or C++.
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies and best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Additionally, you need:

  • 3 A*-C grades at A-level (excluding AS Levels).
  • Completed an Advanced Apprenticeship or BTEC with a minimum of MMM.

This role is based in Worthing, requiring you to be within commuting distance, typically working three days a week in the office. Other opportunities with different location flexibilities are available on our website.

SECURITY CLEARANCE

Successful applicants must obtain Security Check (SC) clearance, which requires residence in the UK for the past 5 years and other criteria. You will be asked about your eligibility during the recruitment process, including residency and citizenship details, as some roles are restricted to UK nationals.
