Job summary

The FA Learning is looking for a Digital Systems Developer to shape and enhance its learning platforms across the LXP and related learner systems. You will provide expert guidance on configuration, change implementation, and governance to ensure platforms meet evolving organisational needs.

• Experience planning, executing and documenting system testing, QA and UAT activities.

• Ability to train and support users at all levels.
• Ability to coordinate multiple workstreams, including outsourced work.

Responsibilities

• Configure and administer FA Learning’s digital systems across LXP, LMS and related platforms.
• Set up resources and experiences within the LXP aligned to objectives.
• Manage user roles, permissions and learner groups.
• Leverage APIs, webhooks and automation to support learner journeys and integrations.
• Diagnose issues, make minor code changes, escalate complex inquiries to vendors.
• Generate regular and ad-hoc reports to inform decisions.
• Train FA Learning staff on system functionality and best practices.
• Support the Learning Systems Roadmap through changes and testing.
• Evaluate configuration requests and advise on design, impact and risks.
• Maintain a QA process for learning content and LXP configurations.
• Contribute to system governance policies and standards.

Job description

Join FA Learning as our Digital Systems Developer and play a central role in shaping and enhancing the digital platforms that support learning across the game. You'll provide expert guidance on system functionality, configuration, and change implementation, ensuring our platforms operate effectively and continue to meet evolving organisational needs. Working closely with the Learning & Innovation team, the wider FA Learning function, and Digital & Technology colleagues, you'll help deliver FA Learning's strategic ambitions through innovative and user-focused digital solutions.

What will you be doing?

• Digital Systems Developer for all digital systems across FA Learning, including the LXP, Community, and related learning platforms.
• Set up and configure resources and experiences within the LXP, ensuring they align with organisational objectives.
• Set up and configure user management, including user roles, permissions and learner groups.
• Utilise platform functionality, including APIs, webhooks and automation tools to support learner journeys, enable system integrations, improve personalisation and ensure learning activity is accurately recorded across connected systems.
• Identify and resolve system issues, making minor code changes to improve the learner experience and escalating larger technical support inquiries as needed with external vendors and service providers.
• Generate regular and ad-hoc reports to support decision-making and monitor key metrics.
• Train and support FA Learning team members on system functionality and best practices.
• Support the delivery of the FA Learning Systems Roadmap through the implementation, testing and configuration of agreed system changes and enhancements.
• Evaluate configuration requests and provide recommendations on solution design, impact, risks and implementation approach.
• Maintain a QA process that is tailored to the testing of learning content and configuration of the LXP.
• Assist in establishing system governance policies, procedures, and standards.
• Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in learning systems and technology.
• Execute additional tasks as required to meet the FA's changing priorities.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure that the highest standards of health, safety, and well-being can be maintained.
• As part of the FA's commitment to ensuring a safe environment for everyone in football, every employee will be required to complete a DBS check. The level of the check required will be based on the activity of the specific job role and in line with legislation and government guidance.

• Ability to assess the impact of system configuration changes on user experience, business processes, integrations and connected systems.
• Experience investigating, diagnosing and resolving complex system configuration and functional issues.
• Ability to translate business requirements into effective system configuration solutions.
• Experience planning, executing and documenting system testing, quality assurance and user acceptance testing activities.
• Experience maintaining system documentation, configuration standards and operational procedures.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
• Ability to train and support users at all levels of the organisation.
• Excellent written and communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate multiple workstreams and priorities, including those outsourced to external suppliers and agencies.

Beneficial to have

• Experience of eLearning development or UI design.
• Understanding of learning platform architecture, user management, permissions, automation and learner journeys.
• Understanding of adult learning theories.
