Job Description:
Technical Staffing Resources (TSR) are the in-house agency and master vendor for KBR, a leading global engineering, construction, and services company.
KBR supports the hydrocarbon and government services markets on six continents, offering challenging assignments on some of the world's largest and most complex projects.
We are seeking two Digital Solutions Architects for a 12+ month contract based in Warrington or Cumbria. Hybrid work arrangement: 3 days in the office, 2 days remote.
This role involves managing the delivery of Architectural Digital Solutions supporting the Sellafield Project & Programme Partner (PPP) engagement.
Job Overview:
The PPP Solutions Architect collaborates with vendors and System Integrators to design solutions that utilize COTS tools and systems on an Azure hybrid cloud. The role supports Enterprise Architects in producing artefacts, roadmaps, and ICT blueprints aligned with the TOGAF framework and IT architecture strategy at Sellafield Ltd.
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain architectural guidelines, templates, and reference materials to facilitate architecture creation, including high and low-level designs.
- Create a repository of reusable components emphasizing IaaS/PaaS services for hybrid cloud platforms.
- Review vendor architecture and platform requirements to design hybrid cloud architectures and services, supporting system development.
- Assist in developing and maintaining the architectural roadmap.
- Provide technical guidance and leadership to internal teams and external partners.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, quality, legislative, and regulatory standards.
- Support information assurance and cybersecurity in solution designs.
- Maximize existing architecture and services in solutions.
- Be knowledgeable of Nuclear Sector Data Policies and UK Government controls (NCSC, ISO, etc.).
- Promote learning from experience (LFE) within projects.
- Engage in personal development and training.
- Adhere to company practices and use approved IT systems.
- Travel as required.
Experience and Skills:
- Designing Azure-based hybrid cloud IaaS platforms for COTS tools and systems.
- Utilizing virtualization and VDI/thin client services.
- Integrating cloud SaaS/IaaS/PaaS with SIEM and SOC (MS Sentinel).
- Designing IDAM systems for secure third-party access.
- Using MS Azure Landing Zones and Infrastructure as Code (BICEP).
Qualifications:
- Degree in IT/IM or related field.
- ITIL Foundation and Practitioner certifications.
- PRINCE2, APM, or Agile certifications.
- MS Azure certifications and professional accreditations.
Successful candidates must obtain UK Security (BPSS) clearance prior to employment.
