Training Specialist – Academic Partnerships

Salary: £43,277 to £51,714 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £55,497 pa inclusive of London allowance (pro rata)

Contract type: Fixed-term appointment until 31 July 2026, with a potential extension pending funding.

The Digital Skills Lab provides LSE students with opportunities to develop their digital skills in a practical and engaging way. Working closely with academic departments, LSE Careers, and LSE LIFE, the Lab aims to create digitally confident social scientists.

The Training Specialist – Academic Partnerships will work as part of a team of trainers to support the delivery and coordination of effective, engaging technical training tailored to academic disciplines or key industries. The role involves:

  1. Collaborating with Learning Developers and academic colleagues to design and deliver training that supports students’ academic courses and employment prospects.
  2. Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders to identify valuable opportunities for the LSE community.
  3. Managing the full lifecycle of events, from planning to execution, with support from colleagues.

Applicants should have excellent communication and networking skills, extensive experience in designing and delivering digital skills training, proficiency in at least one business analysis tool (Excel or Power BI), and in at least one data science tool (Python or R). Prior experience working with stakeholders to achieve learning outcomes is essential. Experience in performance consulting and a professional training or teaching qualification is desirable.
