DWP. Digital with Purpose.

We are hiring skilled Digital Project Managers to join our community of tech experts in DWP Digital.

DWP is the UK's largest government department. Our Digital Project Managers use a range of skills and methodologies, managing multi-functional delivery teams to deliver change, maintain our core applications and deliver new services that support the lives of millions of people.

The scale of what we do is extraordinary, and our purpose is unique. We'd love you to join us.

You are your role

With your experience leading infrastructure, workplace technology projects, user-centred design or agile digital transformation, you'll support some of the largest digital transformations in Europe.

You will join a thriving, supportive community, delivering large scale programmes on time and within budget. You'll take ownership of end-to-end delivery, ensuring governance is followed and reporting to Senior Project Managers.

You'll manage internal and external stakeholder relationships, ensuring consistent and clear communication across a varied audience.

You'll handle conflicts as they arise and help create a positive team environment fostering collaboration and shared responsibility.

You will take charge of your own learning and development, staying up to date with the latest principles, methods, and tools, supporting and mentoring Associates, helping to refine ways of working where needed.

What skills, knowledge and experience will you need? How will this be assessed?

Our application process includes both a technical statement and a personal statement. This is your opportunity to showcase clear examples and evidence of how you meet the following:

Technical Statement:

  • Can demonstrate they have taken full responsibility for the definition, approach, facilitation, and satisfactory completion of a number of different digital projects (typically with direct business impact and firm deadlines).

Personal Statement:

  • Can demonstrate effective project controls to demonstrate the health of the projects they are responsible for and react accordingly to the information gathered.
  • Experience of building and managing effective stakeholder relationships to shape the outcomes of a project, considering different individual needs, views, and ideas.
  • Experience of building team dynamics and identifying ways to improve the way the team is working.
  • Communicate in a straightforward, honest, and engaging manner, choosing appropriate styles and tools to maximise and check understanding and impact.

The sift panel will use the information you provide to assess your experience, skills and knowledge against the above.
