Job Description:

We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and hardworking individual to join our Digital Production team as a Digital Production Assistant within our Academic and Professional Division. The successful candidate will work on our groundbreaking digital publishing products, including Bloomsbury Collections, Bloomsbury Fashion Central, and our Bloomsbury Professional platform, with new platforms planned across various subject areas such as architecture.

This role offers an exciting first step in a publishing career and a significant opportunity to develop new skills while providing essential support to the Digital Production team during a period of rapid expansion.

The role

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out Quality Assurance (QA) and uploading online content.
  • Assisting in the conversion of backlist titles to XML.
  • Responsible for completing invoicing payments.
  • Checking and preparing content for production.
  • QA and uploading of updated legislation onto websites.
  • Taking on administrative tasks to ensure the speedy publication of our content.
  • Participating in any one-off projects as required.

Knowledge, skills, and experience
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • XML knowledge is ideal but not essential.
  • Meticulous and thorough approach with a keen eye for detail.
  • Able to build good relations inside and outside the immediate team and with vendors.
  • Enthusiasm and drive to complete tasks.
  • Flexibility and a willingness to learn new skills.
