Job summary

Zoetis Italia S.r.l. in Bristol seeks a proactive Laboratory Assistant / Digital Pathology Scanning Technician to support accessioning, scanning workflows and diagnostic services with accurate turnaround times.

You will lead day-to-day accessioning activities, slide scanning, and case allocation, collaborating with pathologists and lab teams to ensure efficient processing and high-quality data integrity.

Qualifications

• Experience using laboratory information systems and digital workflows.
• An understanding of histology, pathology or digital pathology processes would be advantageous.
• Strong organisational and workload management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a wider team.
• The ability to maintain accuracy and professionalism while working to deadlines and agreed turnaround times.

Responsibilities

• Accessioning and workflow management: receive, register, stage, store and track specimens with full traceability.
• Coordinate daily accessioning workflow and ensure submissions are processed accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain records in laboratory systems and support case allocation to pathologists.
• Digital pathology scanning: scan slides, assess quality, perform post-scan QC and arrange rescans as needed.
• Monitor worklists and coordinate urgent/case priorities; upload scans to LIMS and digital pathology platform.
• Ensure digital images are stored, archived and tracked in line with data governance.
• Carry out scanner cleaning, maintenance checks and basic troubleshooting with scanners/software.
