Job summary

AECOM in the UK is looking for a Digital Optimisation Lead to drive digital delivery and advisory across England & Wales Water programmes. The role blends hands-on delivery with strategic client-facing consultancy, championing AI and data science to achieve measurable outcomes for projects and clients.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related discipline.
• Proven track record leading digital delivery across multiple programmes in complex environments.
• Experience with UK water sector clients and regulated frameworks.
• Strong data skills including governance; Power BI and Azure; Python preferred.
• Able to translate digital strategy into deliverable workplans with measurable outcomes.
• Excellent communicator able to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience facilitating client workshops and contributing to bid responses.

Responsibilities

• Lead digital delivery across multiple projects and frameworks in England & Wales, acting as digital lead.
• Develop and implement digital optimisation strategies with the core digital team.
• Advise clients on digital transformation, governance, platform adoption and roadmaps.
• Engage with Client Account Managers to identify opportunities and define delivery requirements.
• Champion AI, ML and data science across project teams and client engagements.
• Identify MVPs and scale successful digital innovations in project delivery.
• Support regional delivery teams and bid responses for digital-led opportunities.
• Facilitate client workshops and internal presentations to share progress and value.
