Job description

Digital Marketing & Technical Content Executive
Nice to meet you ...

Can you take a complex technical subject, understand it properly and turn it into clear, engaging content that performs across digital channels?

We are looking for a hands-on Digital Marketing & Technical Content Executive to turn creative and digital strategy into high-quality output for our B2B clients. Technical writing is at the heart of the role, alongside social media, SEO, email marketing, website content and digital campaign delivery.

We know this is a specialist combination of skills, so we are keeping an open mind about how the role could work. We would be happy to hear from people looking for a full-time or part-time employed position, as well as experienced freelancers, consultants or outsourced delivery partners.

Who are we?

A Story Called is a full-service creative agency working predominantly with B2B brands, including businesses in technical, manufacturing and specialist sectors. We combine creative thinking, digital expertise, content and production to help our clients communicate clearly and grow.

We are a remote-first company built around trust, autonomy and continual development. Our team works collaboratively across disciplines, with people given the opportunity and responsibility to grow and make a meaningful contribution.

Who are you?

You are a strong writer who is comfortable getting to grips with subjects you may not initially understand. You know how to research, ask the right questions, identify what matters and explain it accurately in a way that is useful and engaging for the intended audience.

You will also be digitally confident and comfortable delivering work, rather than only developing strategy. You understand the fundamentals of SEO, social media, email marketing, content management systems and analytics, and you use AI tools intelligently without relying on them to replace your own judgement.

What does the role involve?
  • Researching and understanding complex B2B products, services, processes and industries.
  • Writing accurate and engaging technical content, including articles, website copy, landing pages, case studies and whitepapers.
  • Adapting and repurposing content for websites, social media, email and other digital channels.
  • Creating content calendars and producing, scheduling and publishing social media content across multiple client accounts.
  • Applying on-page SEO and AI-search principles, including keywords, headings, metadata, internal linking and content optimisation.
  • Building and deploying email marketing activity and supporting wider digital campaigns.
  • Monitoring performance, producing straightforward reports and using results to improve future activity.
  • Using AI tools to support research, ideas and production while fact-checking, challenging and improving every output.
  • Learning each client’s business, audience and tone of voice so that the work is specific, credible and never generic.
What are we looking for?
  • At least two years’ experience in digital marketing, content marketing or a similar hands-on role, ideally in an agency or B2B environment.
  • Excellent written communication and the ability to explain unfamiliar or technical subjects clearly and accurately.
  • Practical experience of content marketing, social media, email, CMS platforms, basic analytics and on-page SEO.
  • Confident and responsible use of AI tools, combined with strong editorial judgement and attention to detail.
  • A curious, organised and delivery-focused approach, with the ability to manage work across different clients and sectors.
What’s in it for you?

You will join a supportive and creative team and be trusted with genuine responsibility and autonomy. You will work closely with our Creative Strategy Director and Head of Digital, with opportunities to build your knowledge across a broad range of clients, sectors and digital disciplines.

The way we work
  • Remote-first working, with the option to work from home.
  • A reduced 35-hour full-time week.
  • Full-time, part-time and freelance or outsourced arrangements considered.
  • Generous holiday allowance for employed team members, pro-rated for part-time roles.
  • Freelance or outsourced rate: agreed according to experience, availability and the proposed delivery model.
