About The Role
We’re on the hunt for a proactive and results-driven Digital Marketing Officer to join our Marketing and Recruitment team within Education Development here at The University of Manchester. If you’re passionate about digital marketing - especially in the education sector -this is your chance to make an impact!
This is a 12-month fixed-term role to cover a maternity leave, during which you'll play a key part in supporting the University’s ambitious goals for growth in online and blended learning (OBL). The role also includes line management of the Digital Marketing Coordinator.
What You’ll Do
Drive Digital Growth:
- Execute high-impact digital strategies that boost awareness and generate leads for our online and blended learning (OBL) programs.
Plan & Execute Campaigns:
- Lead the delivery of integrated digital marketing campaigns that support student recruitment and engagement.
Amplify Our Reach:
- Manage paid digital media (search, social, display, third-party) to enhance visibility and drive quality leads.
Boost SEO Performance:
- Lead the SEO strategy alongside the Digital Marketing Coordinator, Content Team, and external agencies to enhance our SEO strategy—analysing organic traffic, building SEO-driven content pages, and tracking keyword performance to optimise visibility.
Essential Knowledge, Skills And Experience
- Confident, creative and dynamic, with experience of planning, delivering, managing and optimising integrated digital campaigns, including testing new digital pathways
- Experience of managing paid search, display and paid social campaigns
- Experience of working with external agencies to manage and optimise campaigns
- An excellent understanding of SEO and implementing SEO plans
- Experience of utilising Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
- Good knowledge of using reporting tools such as Google Analytics (including some familiarity of Google Analytics 4 developments) and Google Data Studio
- High level of digital literacy, with knowledge and experience of IT systems relevant to the role, including familiarity with MS Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, CRM (i.e. MS Dynamics), CMS systems (i.e. T4, Sitecore) and integration tools (i.e Zapier)
- Experience with lead generation campaigns and data collection across digital channels, including security and compliance considerations and data integration from web applications to CRM using tools such as Zapier
- Experience in editing content using website content management systems
- Experience of translating complex data sets into meaningful business insights
- Ability to manage and develop a team of staff setting and achieving clear objectives and performance goals
- Ability to meet operational requirements, with excellent planning, organisational and project management skills
- A constructive team player demonstrating an ability to work flexibly, collaboratively and across organisational boundaries
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present information clearly and explain complex issues to a range of audiences with varying levels of understanding
- A commitment to the University’s strategic goals, themes and values
- Excellent attention to detail and strong proofreading skills
- Able to manage projects and campaigns
