Responsibilities as a Digital Marketing Manager
Purpose of the Role:
The Digital Marketing Manager will implement and help develop a new marketing and communications strategy, crucial to the ongoing development of ArtsEd’s profile and reputation and the successful delivery of all our programmes. Understanding the needs of current and prospective students, pupils, and their parents, and being able to identify marketing plans and initiatives that enable ArtsEd to meet both long- and short-term needs is central to the role. Experience in independent education is preferred.
The Digital Marketing Manager will lead in planning and implementing creative, customer-focused campaigns and will be responsible for achieving student and pupil recruitment targets.
They will work closely with senior staff and the rest of the Marketing team to deliver effective experiences to all stakeholders and potential stakeholders. The role also involves developing ArtsEd’s reputation and profile among target audiences, including industry connections, supporters, the local community, students, pupils, and parents. Additionally, the Marketing Manager will ensure consistent and compelling messaging across all platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Design & Video
- Create promotional and advertising materials using design software (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar).
- Design and produce digital and printed materials, supporting print production, liaising with printers, proofreading, and adapting collateral as needed.
- Guard the ArtsEd brand, ensuring correct and effective use of branding and house style internally and externally.
- Lead in designing and producing promotional materials, including images/videos, prospectuses, Grad Books, and other print collateral, working with staff and external agencies.
- Ensure all printed information is accurate, current, and relevant.
- Identify opportunities to refresh ArtsEd’s visual identity, overseeing photography and videography requirements.
- Promote diversity and inclusion through all marketing touchpoints.
- Collaborate with staff and students to identify news stories, create content, and disseminate through appropriate platforms.
- Manage the image library, coordinating in-house photography and film, updating plasma screens, and fulfilling external image requests.
- Ensure content created by direct reports and external agencies meets high standards.
- Maintain consistent visual identity across all touchpoints and review brand architecture with the Head of Marketing.
Recruitment:
- Lead marketing and communication strategies to optimize student and pupil recruitment organization-wide.
- Enhance digital and print activities to maximize reach and impact across target audiences, including advertising.
- Manage recruitment events and activities, both virtual and face-to-face, to increase inquiries, registrations, applications, and acceptances.
- Support teams in executing these activities, including open days, audition days, and outreach programs.
- Oversee the production of relevant collateral.
Social Media
- Oversee planning and execution of a social media strategy aligned with the overall marketing plan.
- Create engaging, content-driven social media assets.
- Schedule and manage daily social media content.
- Implement a short-form video content strategy across platforms in line with organizational goals.
- Stay informed about social network trends to ensure ArtsEd maintains a relevant and engaging presence.
Website
- Manage all aspects of the ArtsEd website through direct reports, ensuring content is current, imagery and videos are refreshed, and the site reflects ArtsEd’s unique offerings.
- Identify opportunities for content updates and improvements.
Market Analysis/Planning
- Review data to identify competitor tactics, market trends, and new opportunities or challenges.
- Understand different audiences to tailor content for successful engagement and conversion.
Events/Other:
- Support the Marketing Team in delivering a program of events.
- Perform any other duties as reasonably requested.
