The Opportunity:

A vacancy has arisen for a dynamic, consumer-centric Digital Marketing Executive in Clarion's Enthusiast Department across the Baby portfolio - https://www.thebabyshow.co.uk/excel, The Baby Show Olympia London, The Baby Show NEC Birmingham.

Born in 2002, The Baby Show is the leading Baby, Pregnancy and Parenting B2C Event in the UK, supporting around 70,000 expectant and new parents, babies, and grandparents annually. The event is held three times a year at ExCeL London, NEC Birmingham, and Olympia London, featuring over 350 brands and offering expert advice on various parenting topics.

This role offers a great opportunity to impact these events. You will work closely with the Marketing Manager and Senior Marketing Campaign Executive to implement marketing plans aligned with the event strategy. You will report directly to the Marketing Manager, who will provide development opportunities, leadership, support, and guidance.

The Candidate:

We seek an enthusiastic, articulate, highly competent, and customer-focused individual prepared to take on the responsibilities of this Digital Marketing Executive role. The ideal candidate will possess strong digital skills, experience in executing digital campaigns, and a good understanding of core marketing principles and events.

The candidate should have solid marketing experience, particularly in digital campaigns, and excellent communication, social media, and organizational skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment across multiple campaigns is essential. Collaboration with the wider marketing team to meet key metrics and overall event marketing strategy is expected.

Key qualities include proven success in digital marketing and social media campaigns, adaptability to dynamic environments, and the ability to integrate online strategies with on-site activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Contribute to developing customer-centric marketing strategies.
  2. Assist in planning and delivering multi-channel marketing campaigns on time.
  3. Create and proof content for websites, emails, social media, and collateral.
  4. Maximize email campaign performance via HTML content, automation, and segmentation (including Engagement Studio).
  5. Maintain and update website content, layout, and assets for optimization.
  6. Manage all databases using the Customer Data Platform (CDP) dashboard.
  7. Plan, execute, and analyze engaging email campaigns.
  8. Manage social media channels, both organic and paid.
  9. Coordinate with the creative team on collateral/assets for digital activities.
  10. Build relationships with partners, sponsors, media, influencers, and exhibitors.
  11. Report on campaign effectiveness and recommend growth opportunities.
  12. Utilize Google Analytics data to personalize visitor experiences.
  13. Develop and maintain online systems (e.g., Pardot analysis, forms, website pop-ups).
  14. Create exhibitor digital marketing packages to maximize their event presence.
  15. Support the delivery of at-show marketing campaigns and event execution.

Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills & Behaviours:

  • Experience in event marketing with successful multi-channel campaigns.
  • Experience building email campaigns and automation, ideally with Pardot.
  • Digital marketing expertise including social media, content marketing, affiliate/partnership marketing, and performance channels like PPC, Display, Paid Social; familiarity with TikTok is a plus.
  • Skills in SEO, Google AdWords & Analytics, website content management, social media tools (e.g., Later, Canva), mobile apps, video, blogs.
  • Strong attention to detail, copywriting, proofing, and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of design and print processes.
  • Understanding of core marketing disciplines and customer data platforms (Treasure Data knowledge is desirable).
  • Experience with tracking, response reporting, databases, and segmentation techniques.
  • Good interpersonal, communication, and team-working skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities calmly.
  • IT skills including Word, Excel, and website design tools like Canva.
  • Budget management skills and alignment with Clarion’s values of passion, care, imagination, and trust.
