Job description

The Central Digital Learning (CDL) Team is part of the Education Development Team within the Division of Student and Academic Services.

The CDL Team offers advice and support to academic and professional services colleagues in the design, creation and delivery of digital learning resources. The focus for the CDL team is primarily on those parts of the University that do not have direct access to other sources of digital learning support.

The CDL Team also co-ordinates University-wide digital learning activities in collaboration with digital learning teams within the Faculties and other business areas. These activities include the management of teaching and learning software, production of training materials and the continuous improvement of our software ecosystem.

Overall Purpose of the Job

  • Work under the direction of the Head of Digital Learning to manage the Central Digital Learning Team in the delivery of high quality and effective digital learning support.
  • Manage the provision of a professional, high quality, efficient, customer-focused digital learning service to all teaching staff, leading the team to achieve operational excellence in the delivery of digital learning services and support sustained growth in activity.
  • Input into the formulation of the University’s strategic and operational priorities for Teaching, Learning and Students where appropriate to ensure that the University continues to enhance the quality of the staff and student experience through the use of technology.
  • Lead, direct and facilitate the delivery of a range of innovative learning technology support services and projects that enhance the teaching and learning experience across the institution and are informed by academic priorities and university strategy.
  • Proactively build relationships and engage with colleagues across the University to promote the pedagogical application of digital learning technologies and to generate ideas and discussion on how digital learning can benefit staff and students, turning these ideas into successful projects.
