Job summary

Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service is seeking an Information, Systems & Technology (IST) Trainer to drive digital learning and ICT training across the Service, supporting staff development in an agile, inclusive environment. You will design and refresh e-learning, deliver induction sessions, assess training impact, and tailor IT training with departments while travel is required.

The role is temporary to 14 February 2027, 37 hours per week at the Joint Training Centre, with a Grade F salary of

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in education and training or equivalent or demonstrable experience in a training environment.
• Level 3 qualification in assessing vocational achievement or equivalent (desirable).
• Level 4 qualification in ICT or equivalent.
• Microsoft Office Qualification.
• Training design, delivery and methods (classroom, e-learning, virtual).
• Training evaluation and measuring effectiveness of training.
• ICT training supports wider organisational objectives.
• E-Learning platform monitoring and development.

Responsibilities

• Inspire and equip colleagues by delivering our digital skills training plan.
• Welcome new starters and support their success through induction, onboarding, and readiness sessions.
• Champion the Digital Champions Network to foster collaborative digital learning.
• Partner with departments and stations to address IT training needs and tailor solutions.
• Assess training needs and measure impact to drive improvement.
• Design and refresh engaging e-learning materials.
• Get involved in ICT projects and drive digital transformation initiatives.
