The Digital Lab Technician role is an exciting opportunity to work with the latest technology, such as Extended Reality (XR) spaces, digital whiteboards, and collaboration areas, to support our clients and staff! You will also get the opportunity to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders such as project managers, engineers, administrative staff and building caretakers, to name a few, as well as our wider Nuclear digital team, located across the UK and overseas. The role is combined with a Level 3 Data Technician apprenticeship over the course of 12 months. As a paid, full-time and permanent member of our team, we’ll support you from day one to help you reach your full potential, and you’ll also have the time you need to focus on our studies. Supported by line managers, senior leaders, the Learning & Development team, mentors and the apprentice community, you’re given the trust and flexibility to drive your own development.
Your Purpose
- Manage bookings and availability of zones within our digital lab, ensuring the space is appropriately set up to suit booking requests.
- Regularly check and maintain digital cameras, VR headsets, and laser scanners (amongst other devices).
- Work alongside our IT services and/or technology suppliers to resolve technical issues, including any on-site hardware and software issues.
- Monitor usage and identify opportunities for additional hardware or emerging technologies to be implemented.
- Collaborate with other teams to provide guidance on how to use the digital lab and encouraging utilisation.
- Collate and deliver information to support our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) content.
- Support in producing and delivering internal and external communications including multimedia training experiences, updating in line with feedback, learning from experience and implementation of new technology.
- Develop databases, if and where necessary to support digital lab activities that align with company information standards.
- Ensure data is accessible and compliant with information assurance and cyber security protocols.
Requirement
- GCSE English & Maths 4-9 (C-A*) or equivalent.
- Communication, Initiative, Learning.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Good team working skills.
- Great attention to detail.
- Good organisational and prioritisation skills.
- Ability to spot issues and escalate to your manager and other teams to support.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently.
- Reliable, dependent and mature approach to your work.
- Resilience and a desire to continually improve personally and professionally.
- An interest in technology is appreciated but not required.
- The ability to work full time in-office.

Security Clearance
This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.
