What you’ll do:

  • Learn how networks are built and operated in technical detail
  • Performing quarantine, goods in, and FAT tests across a variety of vendor networking equipment
  • Focusing on activities performed by the Network Services Network Operations Centre (NOC).
  • Understanding of all OSS platforms used by the NOC.
  • Understanding of all services provided on the Telent Cloud Services Platform including PaaS, IaaS & BaaS.
  • Understanding the differences between managed and unmanaged services.
  • Building out basic troubleshooting processes for the Telent Cloud Services Platform
  • Adhering to GDPR policy around sensitive data held on devices or central shares.
  • Handling and protection of Telent information and reporting of security incidents as defined in the Information Security Policy and the HR Information Security Policy.
  • To attend customer premises with senior engineers for install and commissioning work and faults.
  • Attend technical workshops.

Who you are & what to prepare for:

  • We don’t require individuals with experience as we will provide full training in all aspects of the role from how to use tools or software. We are looking for candidates with the right attitude, commitment, and desire to learn.
  • Knowledge and interest in all things ICT will be important. You will be working in various environments, so someone with a keen interest in Networks, Cloud, IT infrastructure as you will be building valuable skills across these teams. You will be involved in various stages of complex work and you will be hands-on with the equipment in our labs.
  • You will get a mobile phone and a laptop as part of the role.
  • Although supported throughout the programme by us at Telent, you will need to take ownership of your tasks and personal development.
  • Client and customer service is critical to the services we provide customers.
  • Have a positive work ethic and be organised.
  • Communication is vital; you will need to be an effective communicator both in writing and verbally.

The requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs Grade 4 or higher (or equivalent qualification). This must include Maths, English, and a Science or IT-based subject.
  • Desirable to have additional A-levels or an equivalent qualification in a related subject.
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK.
  • Must be over the age of 18 by September 2025.
  • Able to pass full Security Clearance vetting for access to secure information, site access, and confidential permissions.

Programme Specifics:

  • This apprenticeship is typically 24 months in duration.
  • Starting salary of £17,500 which will increase throughout the duration of the programme.
  • The qualification you gain will be a Level 3 Information Communications Technician.
  • Our chosen training provider Bragd will support you in obtaining your qualification.
  • Predominantly office-based at our Camberley site and will have visits to other sites.
  • On completion of your apprenticeship, we hope to offer you a full-time position with Telent where you can continue to progress your career.
