Job summary

North Wales Police is seeking a Digital Forensics Unit Administrative Technician to join the team in St. Asaph on a permanent basis. The role focuses on processing electronic device exhibits and supporting the digital data review workflow with high integrity.

The position requires IT proficiency, strong communication and organisational skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a demanding environment.

Qualifications

• NVQ 4/HND or equivalent qualification in Policing, Computer Science, Forensic Computing or similar.
• Proven decision-making and communication skills.
• In-depth IT knowledge, specifically Microsoft operating systems and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of different computer components and digital storage devices.
• Problem solve different and varied issues through innovative and creative thinking.
• Proven communication skills to relay information to officers regarding exhibits.
• Good organisational skills to prioritise and meet deadlines under pressure.
• Pro-active, self-motivated approach, able to work in a team and on own initiative.
• Willingness to undertake personal study.

Responsibilities

• Accept and process all electronic device exhibit formats whilst upholding the highest standard of integrity in relation to exhibit management.
• Liaise and communicate with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide administrative management and support of the digital data review process.
• May involve exposure to distressing material.
• Maintain confidentiality, responsibility and commitment to the role.
