Are you an operational leader ready to make a meaningful impact in a high-performance, quality-driven digital forensics environment? We are looking for a proactive and analytical Digital Forensic Operations Manager to join our team on a 24-month fixed-term contract, with the opportunity to extend or transition based on performance and business needs.
This is a key role within SYTECH's operational leadership structure, focused on driving performance, streamlining workflows, and ensuring that our digital forensic services are delivered efficiently, reliably, and to the highest standards.
About the Role
As Digital Forensic Operations Manager, you will take the lead on planning, coordinating, and monitoring digital forensic casework across our organisation. Working closely with Lab Managers, Forensic Case Team and the Digital Forensic Services Manager, you will ensure resources are effectively allocated, performance targets are met, and systems are continuously improved.
This role is central to ensuring SYTECH remains at the forefront of digital forensic service delivery in the UK, aligned with ISO 17025, the FSR Codes, and evolving best practices.
Requirements
What You Will Deliver
Over the course of your contract, you will be expected to:
- Coordinate the assignment and progression of digital forensic casework to meet deadlines and service level targets
- Oversee case distribution and resource allocation in collaboration with Lab Managers, ensuring workload is balanced and aligned with team capacity
- Lead weekly operational performance reviews, identifying bottlenecks, delivery risks, and resourcing issues
- Track and analyse key productivity metrics including; Case turnaround time, Case completion rate per analyst, utilization rate (% billable time), throughput per workflow type
- Maintain real-time visibility of caseloads and pipeline forecasting using case management tools
- Drive continuous improvement of operational procedures, systems, and workflows
- Identify and support opportunities for operational efficiencies, workflow enhancements, and service development
- Drive operational projects including workflow redesign and system enhancements
- Ensure the wellbeing of teams operating in high-risk, sensitive case environments
Performance & Quality Assurance
- Monitor operational KPIs and enforce accountability for delivery targets
- Support audit readiness, lead on corrective/preventative actions (CAPAs), and address non-conformities in operational practices
- Collaborate with the Quality team to uphold high standards in forensic documentation, case reviews, and evidence handling
- Ensure consistent staff adherence to operational SOPs and performance expectations
- Work with the Quality team to address any non-conformities or improvements related to workflow execution.
Strategic and Project Involvement
- Assist senior management in medium-to-long-term planning for digital forensics operations, including capacity building and future-proofing
- Lead or contribute to operational projects, such as new system implementations or workflow redesigns
- Engage with internal stakeholders (e.g., IT, People, Commercial) to ensure smooth cross-functional delivery
What You'll Bring
- Strong background in operations or workflow management within forensic or regulated environments
- Experience in managing or coordinating technical teams and performance delivery
- Strong analytical mindset and ability to use data to improve outcomes
- Compliance & Quality Assurance: Familiarity with forensic accreditation and regulatory requirements
- Technology & Automation: Experience with forensic tools, case management systems, and data processing automation
- Performance Metrics & Reporting: Ability to track KPIs and drive continuous improvement.
- Experience in change management or business process improvement.
- Willingness to travel nationally as required

Remuneration:
We offer a competitive salary, aligned with the experience and capability of the successful candidate. This role also includes the opportunity to earn a performance-based bonus, linked to the successful delivery of agreed operational objectives during the fixed-term period.
This 24 month contract offers you the opportunity to make a tangible difference, with the flexibility to shape and influence how we deliver digital forensic services. Upon successful delivery of agreed objectives, there is potential for renewal or permanent transition based on business needs.
