MBDA offers a Digital Excellence Undergraduate Placement for 2027 in Stevenage, starting September 2027. The 1-year placement is designed to apply university learning to real-world projects and technologies within a hybrid on-site model (2–3 days per week on-site).

You will join Digital Excellence teams across Change Management, Project Management, Business Architecture, AI & Data Strategy, gaining hands-on experience and the chance to secure a graduate role after your placement.

• Current undergraduate studying for a degree in business, management, information systems, computer science or data science.
• Curiosity, enthusiasm and the ambition to learn are valued.
• Interest in digital technology and its impact on business is desirable.

Digital Excellence Business - Undergraduate Placement 2027

Join MBDA's Digital Excellence Business Undergraduate Placement and gain hands‑on experience helping shape how we deliver digital change, improve the way we work and make the most of emerging technology.

Digital Excellence brings together the Information Technology and Information Systems capabilities that help shape MBDA's digital environment from managing change and delivering projects, to defining business architecture and strategy, and exploring how AI & Data Strategy can support better decisions and new ways of working.

Salary

£24,460

Dynamic (hybrid) working

2-3 days per week on‑site due to workload classification

Security Clearance

British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

This role is scheduled to close for applications at midnight on Monday 4th January 2027 but may close earlier depending on application volumes.

The opportunity:

During your placement, you will join one of our Digital Excellence teams, with your placement area determined by business priorities and opportunities available at the time. This could include: Change Management, Project Management, Business Architecture, AI & Data Strategy.

Whichever area you join, you will work alongside experienced specialists and have the opportunity to contribute to real business and digital priorities. Depending on your placement, you could be supporting a major change initiative, coordinating project activity, analysing business needs and processes, helping shape our digital strategy, or contributing to how MBDA develops and applies AI and data.

With support from experienced colleagues, you could develop skills in:

• Managing and supporting digital and business change
• Planning and delivering projects and initiatives
• Understanding business needs, capabilities and processes
• Developing strategic and analytical thinking

• Current Undergraduate studying for a degree in Business & Management, Change Management, Project Management, Business Analysis, Economics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science or a related discipline.
