Job Description
The digital content team at Mind looks after all of our online content – from social media, to blogs, to webpages. We want to make sure everyone can use the website and find the information and support they need. We work closely with digital analysts to see what’s working, and what we need to improve to make sure our website is the best it can be.
We’re looking for a digital content officer to work on our website content. We want someone who designs with the user in mind, and thinks about how people with mental health problems might experience our website.
Are you passionate about creating an internet everyone can use? We’d love to hear from you.
Responsibilities
What you’ll do:
- Lead on digital content projects for other teams across the charity. You’ll help them to improve their webpages, and make themmemorable, engaging and relevant to our audiences.
- Support the development of our content strategy, helping make sure that all the content we create contributes to that strategy.
- Manage day-to-day website requests which come in via our request portal and CMS.
- Contribute to the ongoing maintenance and health of the Mind website, working closely with the digitaldevelopment team to make sure the site is running without issues.
- Train other teams and our network of local Minds to improve their digitalcontent skills.
Role Requirements
Essential:
- You’re a superb writer, editor and proofreader. You write in Plain English, and you never use jargon.
- You know how to write using an organisation’s tone of voice. You’re able to adapt the tone and style of your writing, depending on the audience and the type of content you’re working on.
- You design content with the user in mind. You’re led by user need, ensuring all content decisions have the user at the heart of them.
- You think about the end-to-end user journey when designing content. You think bigger than just the copy on the page.
- You use analytics and data to inform content decisions. You use data to analyse user behaviour, and understand why users are doing the things they do.
- You’re confident using a CMS. At Mind we use Umbraco.
- You’re skilled at managing stakeholders. You listen to stakeholders’ needs when designing content, but you also know when to push back on content decisions.
- You can manage multiple projects and deadlines at one time. You can prioritise projects and manage your own time effectively, without sacrificing quality.
- You work well in a team – and you involve data analysts, developers and subject matter experts at the right stage in the content design journey.
- You understand accessibility requirements for web content and how to implement them.
