Job description

Nairn Book & Arts Festival seeks a Digital Content Assistant to boost its 2025 online presence (30 Aug–7 Sept). This part-time (8 hrs/week), optional remote role runs for 16 wks (mid-May to mid-Sept).

We’re seeking a Digital Content Assistant to enhance the online presence of the 2025 Nairn Book & Arts Festival (30 Aug–7 Sept). This is a part-time role (8 hours/week) running for 16 wks from mid-May to mid-September which can be fully remote. You’ll work closely with the Festival & Marketing Assistant and Artistic Director as part of a small, collaborative team supporting the delivery of one of the longest established arts festivals in Scotland. The Festival & Marketing Assistant will oversee day-to-day tasks to ensure cohesive marketing messaging, with overall strategic direction from the Artistic Director. If you’re a self-sufficient digital marketing professional with proven experience in creating impactful digital content for arts organisations, we want to hear from you!


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Create engaging Nairn Book & Arts Festival branded digital content for use on social media (Facebook & Instagram), including graphics, text and videos, using Canva.
  2. Assist in scheduling and maintaining social media (Facebook, Instagram, X), ensuring audience engagement and interaction with festival artists.
  3. Support website updates, event listings (TicketSource) and email marketing (Mailchimp).
  4. Assist in post-festival analytics and evaluation to assess digital campaign effectiveness.

Essential Skills & Experience:
  1. Proven experience in content creation & social media management, preferably in the arts.
  2. Highly proficient in Canva for fast and effective digital asset creation.
  3. Experience with website editing, Mailchimp and SurveyMonkey.
  4. Organised, proactive and able to work independently in a remote setting.
  5. Passionate about books, arts and culture, with an understanding of arts audiences.
  6. A proactive self-starter who can work independently while being part of a small, collaborative team.

Contract Details:
  1. Duration: 16 weeks, 8 hours per week (mid-May to mid-September)
  2. Fee: £1665 (8 hrs/week across 16 weeks at £12.60 per hour)
  3. Application deadline: midnight 20 April
  4. Interviews: 29 April (via Zoom)
  5. Start date: 19 May
