Job description

KMPT provides a wide range of adult mental health and learning disability services to our local population of 1.8 million people in Kent and Medway. Each year, we care for over 2000 people in our hospitals and 54,000 people in the community.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced digital content and communications officer to join our communications and engagement team. You will support the delivery of a new public-facing trust website and patient literature library, enhancing digital content and communications to improve experiences for staff and patients.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Support the Brand and Digital Communications Manager in developing our intranet and trust website, including project management, content writing, and CMS maintenance.
  2. Assist in developing a digital patient literature library for staff and patients.
  3. Create, edit, and publish engaging content across intranet, website, and social media, ensuring alignment with our voice, tone, and Plain English ethos.
  4. Support user research, analyze feedback, and implement improvements to enhance user experience.
  5. Collaborate with departments to align messaging, maintain brand consistency, and plan digital campaigns.
  6. Maintain information architecture for intranet and website.
  7. Lead training sessions for content contributors on web writing, accessibility, and intranet use.
  8. Monitor website and intranet analytics to evaluate performance and identify improvements.
  9. Ensure compliance with policies, accessibility (WCAG), legal requirements, and GDPR.
Additional Information

This role involves frequent travel across KMPT sites in Kent and Medway. It is not a coding role; technical coding skills are not required.
