An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and self-motivated Business Analyst to join our growing Business Analysis Centre of Excellence (BACoE). The centre advocates and champions knowledge sharing of Business Analysis best practices, tools, and techniques to drive innovation and continuous business process improvement.

Working on multiple high-impact client-facing projects, the Business Analyst will play a pivotal role in fostering professional relationships with senior stakeholders and subject matter experts to identify and analyze business needs.

Typical projects may include:

  • Software selection, procurement, and implementation.
  • Implementation of standard Mace software solutions.
  • Office infrastructure setup and office moves.
  • Whole IT strategy delivery for a project or programme.
  • Information security projects including implementation of an Information Security Management System (ISMS) and certification to ISO27001.
  • Disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
  • Selection of outsourced and managed IT services suppliers.

The Business Analyst will lead in analyzing and resolving client business problems by critically assessing information gathered through various elicitation techniques, driving business process improvements, and articulating the rationale for change.

Through interviews and workshops, the Business Analyst will define, prioritize, and document requirements into a Business Requirements Specification to evaluate and deliver value-added solutions aligned with client strategic objectives.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Supporting stakeholders in identifying, defining, and prioritizing solution requirements, securing sign-offs as appropriate.
  • Creating and refining epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Engaging with IT software and service providers, supporting user acceptance testing, product design, and development to ensure solutions meet end-user needs and business goals.
  • Developing a strong understanding of the client's IT environment, business goals, priorities, processes, and system interactions.
  • Liaising with stakeholders to understand business problems and identify solutions to address limitations and pain points.
  • Investigating business scenarios through interviews, brainstorming, and workshops to draw relevant conclusions.
  • Applying analytical tools such as gap analysis, SWOT, options analysis, wireframing, and prototyping.
  • Producing high-quality documentation including specifications, user guides, testing, training materials, and post-implementation documents.
  • Building professional relationships with stakeholders at all levels to manage expectations around scope, delivery, and timelines.
  • Collaborating with project teams to understand data management and reporting practices.
  • Contributing to standard practices and processes for the business analysis centre of excellence.
  • Supporting the development of resources and materials for the business analysis toolkit.
  • Establishing and chairing focus/steering groups within client projects when required.
  • Supporting smaller project tasks to ensure successful delivery.
  • Undertaking maturity assessments related to IT processes and services.

You’ll need to have:

  • Experience as a Business Analyst across various IT projects.
  • Formal Business Analysis certification (e.g., IIBA) preferred.
  • Project management certifications such as PRINCE2, Agile, APM, CAPM are desirable.
  • Proven success in delivering full lifecycle IT projects.
  • Knowledge of IT project management methodologies including waterfall and agile.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Team-oriented attitude, willing to advise and guide others.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Visio, MS Project.
  • Experience in the construction sector is a plus.

You’ll also have:

  • Security clearance for UK projects and security-restricted work.
  • Work and residency permits for the UK.
