Job title: LOTI Digital Best Practice Manager

Based: London Councils, 12 Arthur Street, London, and remotely

Hours: 35 hours per week

Salary: £50,721 per annum

Interviews: Week commencing 30 June 2025, including a two-stage process (in-person on Monday 30 June, online on Wednesday 2 July)

About LOTI

LOTI is London local government’s collaborative innovation team. Our membership organisation helps London borough councils and the Greater London Authority (GLA) use innovation, data, and technology to improve performance, tackle challenges, and enhance services. Hosted by London Councils, LOTI connects over 1,500 local government colleagues online and in person, fostering knowledge sharing, capacity building, and shared problem-solving.

About the Role

We’re seeking a skilled Digital Best Practice Manager to support London borough councils in their use of technology, data, and innovation. In this exciting role, you will:

  • Provide expertise on Artificial Intelligence (AI), overseeing networks of professionals implementing AI solutions and ensuring ethical, effective practices.
  • Research boroughs’ questions on technology, digital, and data matters, rapidly providing clear and actionable insights.
  • Design and commission research briefs and produce concise briefings on industry trends and government initiatives.
  • Curate foundational knowledge on technology applications, DDaT spending, cyber security, and IT strategies, offering boroughs key insights.
  • Support boroughs in sharing research, reducing duplication of effort, and championing ethical and secure practices.
  • Research and write case studies of leading practices in digital, technology, and innovation fields.

About You

The ideal candidate should display:

  • Solid expertise in Artificial Intelligence, including narrow AI, genAI, and ethical considerations.
  • Strong research and communication skills, with the ability to present insights clearly to varied audiences.
  • Great stakeholder management and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in working with data, creativity, and responsiveness to dynamic needs.
  • Commitment to learning and growing professionally.
