Description
We’re looking for a talented and dynamic journalist with passion and drive to take our digital content strategy to the next level in Greater Manchester and Lancashire.
The role of Digital Audience and Content Editor is one of the most exciting in the newsroom, and the successful applicant will play a leading role in growing our online audiences.

Key Responsibilities
This role will primarily focus on leading the Bury Times team, but the successful candidate will also provide some support to The Bolton News, Lancashire Telegraph, The Oldham Times and The Messenger as part of our regional newsdesk.

You should be an NCTJ-qualified journalist with newsroom experience, great ideas and the ability to source the best stories which will engage a range of different audiences in Bury and the wider area.
You will enjoy collaborating with the rest of the news team to create the best content plans for our digital platforms.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced senior reporter looking to progress their career or someone currently working on a newsdesk on the lookout for a new challenge.

  • Understand multiple social media platforms and audiences
  • Know exactly what makes a story and be able to pitch ideas to the Regional Editor
  • Have a sound knowledge of media law and IPSO’s code of conduct
The role is based at our Bolton office, but we are flexible about a mix of home working and getting out on patch with the team.
