Job description

Key activities of the industry-based work of this apprenticeship include:

• Contributing to new and innovative software used in the overall aircraft design, testing, or optimization processes;
• Working on software solutions to support in-service aircraft;
• Participating in all phases of the application development life cycle, including research and design, development, testing, implementation, and support;
• Interfacing with engineers and IT specialists to provide solutions to business needs.

This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company's success, reputation, and sustainable growth.

To be eligible for this apprenticeship, you must have a minimum of either:

• 3 A-Levels at grade C/4 or above, preferably in Maths, Sciences, and IT;
• A T Level in an IT/Digital subject at Merit or above;
• A BTEC L3 Extended Diploma in an IT/Digital subject, at a minimum MMM grade;
• Equivalent qualifications/Experience subject to validation;
• A minimum of 4 GCSEs, including English Language and Maths, at Grade 4/C or above.

Please note that, due to the funded nature of this program, applicants with undergraduate degrees in computing/IT are not eligible.

The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate the following:

• Enjoy solving mathematical or science problems through coding;
• Some previous experience of coding and/or Linux/cloud;
• The ability to work well in a team;
• Not being afraid to learn and get involved;
• Being proactive, loving to learn, and able to focus on self-development;
• Ability to manage problems, communicating effectively to resolve them in a fast-paced environment.

Alongside your degree, you'll be joining our experts at Filton, immediately being able to apply your skills to the world of Commercial Aircraft. You'll be assigned to a department with incredible career potential, such as:
