Base pay range

Computing and Digital at South Staffordshire College are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and skilled teacher to support our L2 / L3 and HE Computing and Digital provision, working with our amazing team which has seen significant growth and investment by the college.

Candidates need to support our high expectations in motivating our learners, developing their craft, requiring a high level of technical competence and up-to-date knowledge of practical Computing practices, and in supporting learners in their progression towards career in Computing. The successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, knowledge of working in creative environment, and a proactive approach towards maintaining and developing new skills to support the rapidly evolving technologies and software used in the games industry.

This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher to help play a vital role in further building our provision which is growing from strength to strength, and in supporting the regions aspirations as a digital and creative county.

The successful applicant will have a degree in a Games, Computing or Computer Science related field, a full teaching qualification (PGCE or DTTLS) or looking to work towards such, together with experience of teaching. They should also be confident in their use of a range of software which may include the Adobe suite, the Autodesk suite, Unreal Engine or Unity.

What you can expect from us - We care about your wellbeing so have a number of activities all year that provide support. However, time off is also important. We have a generous holiday scheme, the usual Bank Holidays, an additional 5 days at Christmas and 2 'ME' days (where you can have a day off work and do whatever makes you happy) as well as an additional day on campus spent on wellbeing.

The College also contributes to your pension at a minimum of 22.9% (we contribute more for people in the Local Government Pension Scheme).
