Job Description:
Overall job purpose

The role is for a digital accounting assistant manager or manager for the North West region. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering client work, proactively identifying client opportunities, and promoting the benefits of cloud solutions to the wider team. The candidate will be supported by the national digital accounting lead.

This will primarily be a regional role, and some travel will be required.

Responsibilities
  • Liaising with partners and portfolio managers to identify client opportunities and internal efficiencies for cloud implementation and optimization.
  • Promoting the completion of, and where appropriate, carrying out the new digital health checks across the ABA North West portfolio. Tracking the completion of these and following up on opportunities identified.
  • Carrying out client work including cloud implementation, finance function optimization, and Xero training engagements.
  • Overseeing junior staff assisting on projects, providing adequate briefing, supervision, training, and reviewing work completed for adequacy and competence.
  • Raising awareness of digital solutions, particularly cloud accounting, Xero, and related apps, across managers and partners, including challenging current ways of working.
  • Keeping up to date with developments in digital accounting, maintaining Xero certification, and undertaking relevant training.

  • Qualified Accountant.
  • Strong understanding of cloud-based technology.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Strong communicator, both with clients and RSM staff at all levels.
  • Proactive, capable of driving the digital journey.
  • Resilient, comfortable with trying new approaches and accepting initial failures.
  • Good judgment to benchmark solutions and articulate reasons for choices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues effectively.
