Job description

To provide a professional Nutrition and Dietetic care service within the Paediatric Respiratory and Cystic Fibrosis (CF) services. This includes advice to in-patients, out-patients, their parents and carers, all healthcare staff, and participation in the training of student dietitians.

The post holder will be expected to deliver a service to the respiratory service for both in and out patients. As well as Leeds respiratory patients, the service will also require input from respiratory patients across Yorkshire, necessitating liaison with local paediatric dietitians across the network.

The post holder will assist the lead dietitian in delivering the CF service and gain experience in Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia (PCD), working alongside another B6 to provide cover for the service and general medicine.

You will demonstrate initiative in supporting senior specialist dietitians and the clinical dietetic manager in the department's day-to-day management and participate in training student dietitians.

The role is Monday to Friday.

Main duties of the job

Main duties include:

  • Respiratory service: Delivering services to in and out patients.
  • CF service: Assisting the lead dietitian in the delivery of the Paediatric CF service in Leeds.
  • Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia (PCD) and general medicine: Gaining experience in respiratory medicine, providing cover alongside another B6, and supporting general medicine services.

You will support and assist senior staff and participate in training activities.

  • Ability to meet Occupational Health requirements, including blood-borne virus clearance.
Experience

  • Attendance at Clinical Supervisory Skills Course or equivalent.
