Job description

Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a PCN Dietitian to work alongside the existing Senior Dietitian within Wythenshawe PCN. Primary care networks (PCNs) focus on the wider health of their population, taking a proactive approach to managing population health.

The role will principally involve delivering in-person clinics (both 1:1 and small groups) within GP practices and other community settings. Collaborating with the existing dietitian, you will review, adapt, and develop the service to reduce barriers to access and engagement. Wythenshawe PCN encourages using evidence-based practice in innovative and creative ways to improve health outcomes.

Wythenshawe PCN is located in South Manchester, comprising 7 GP practices serving 60,000 patients:

  • Benchill Medical Practice
  • Bowland Medical Practice
  • Cornishway Medical Practice
  • Maples Medical Centre
  • Peel Hall Medical Centre
  • RK Medical Practice

This is a part-time role for 2 days (15 hours). Practice hours are from 8:30 to 6:30, offering flexible working hours.

Main Duties

The role aims to deliver a dietetic service tailored to the diverse needs of local community service-users, evolving with changing patient needs and priorities. You will work autonomously as an experienced practitioner, engaging with a wider team of primary care and community professionals.

  • Re-establish and run clinical sessions for 1:1 patient care and small group workshops.
  • Deliver services in various settings, including community clinics, GP surgeries, patients' homes, community venues, and group settings.
  • Promote the dietitian role within GP surgeries and the wider network by attending meetings and networking events with community services and neighborhood teams.
About Us

We are a collaborative group of 7 GP Practices in Wythenshawe, South Manchester, forming a Primary Care Network serving approximately 60,000 patients. We work together to develop and deliver network-based services tailored to local needs.
