Job summary

A prestigious NHS Trust in Coventry is seeking a Band 5 rotational dietitian to provide comprehensive dietetic services for adults and children across various medical settings. Job description

The Band 5 rotational role provides experience in a variety of settings across UHCW and may be placed within any of the services supported by UHCW Dietitians.

Provides a professional dietetic service for adults and paediatrics across a range of medical and surgical inpatient wards, outpatient clinics, and the community at UHCW.

Assesses and treats patients/clients, maintains records, with support from senior colleagues as necessary.

Liaises with dietetic colleagues and other hospital staff, such as medical, nursing, catering, and other health professionals.

Note: For the first 8 months, this position is full-time (37.5 hours), reducing to 22.5 hours after this period due to temporary funding.

Successful applicants must provide an immunisation and vaccination report from their current UK occupational health provider or GP.

As a valued member of the Dietetic & SLT Department, the post holder will support the patient journey and adhere to clinical protocols and guidelines.

  • Work autonomously to provide dietetic advice to adults and paediatric patients, carers, and staff with various medical conditions in inpatient, outpatient, and community settings.
  • Carry out nutritional assessments, interpret biochemistry, anthropometrics, clinical conditions, and diet history to identify nutritional problems.
  • Develop treatment plans, including calculating nutritional requirements, analyzing intakes, setting client-centered goals, and discharge planning, including patients on artificial nutritional support.
  • Prescribe dietary treatments and ACBS products where guidelines are limited.
  • Facilitate group sessions to promote patient knowledge and behavior change.
  • Provide dietetic advice, treatment, and counseling across various conditions and settings.
