Job description

Would you like to help the community dietetic team provide nutritional care to patients?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dietetic Support Worker with a strong interest in enteral feeding, nutrition support & community Dietetics to work as part of the ABUHB Community Dietetics Team. We are an enthusiastic multidisciplinary team with a strong ethos of mentoring and development.

We rely on our support staff to help us monitor and review the nutritional intake of some of the patients under our care.

The post holder will require advanced communication skills to provide a specialist service for the patients as well as being able to effectively report on the service to key stakeholders.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for someone who is organised and likes to work in a dynamic and fast-paced community healthcare environment and enjoys completing administrative tasks to support patient care. There will also be opportunities to work in a patient-facing capacity, and therefore those who enjoy working in a caring role, have good communication skills, and can champion the importance of nutrition in healthcare with enthusiasm would be an ideal fit.

You will carry out organisational or administrative tasks as designated by the registered dietitian or administrative lead, e.g., register patients on the Home Enteral Feeding system; audit, relocate, and return enteral feeding pumps across the wards; stock checks of nutritional products on the ward.

Whilst based at Ty Gwent in Cwmbran, this post holder will work with the team of community dietitians across the main ABUHB hospitals. Travel to patients' homes will be required.
