The Company
You will be joining an organisation synonymous with engineering excellence, developing leading power generation technology solutions for customers in the marine, construction, agricultural, rail and defence sectors (amongst others). A genuine leader in their field, this company provides comprehensive training for engineers to reflect the developing and emerging technology in its product range. Customer relationships are key, hence the Service Engineer role requires a candidate with a proven track record of delivering value-added services in client-facing roles.
The Ideal Candidate
You will be experienced in both the mechanical and electrical maintenance of diesel engines and/or propulsion systems and associated electrical control technology, including ECUs (Electronic Control Units). Qualified to NVQ2 or higher, you will have demonstrable experience in fault diagnostics, remote diagnostics, and condition monitoring.
Working in a highly safety-critical environment at customer locations, you will be required to undertake pre-employment checks, including medical assessments, drug, and alcohol screens.

The Role
As a Diesel Technician, you will perform fault diagnostics on modern diesel engines.
Full product training will be provided. Diesel Engineers are responsible for ensuring performance and availability of diesel engines in rolling stock, acting as product experts. The role involves hands-on work and remote diagnostics to evaluate data, identify faults early, and perform fault resolution through effective condition monitoring.
The Salary
The basic salary is £35,000 per annum. The role is Monday to Friday, 7 am to 4 pm, 40 hours weekly. Benefits include 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, an attractive pension scheme, private medical insurance, and other standard company benefits.
