Job description

Responsibilities

• Conduct fault analysis using diagnostic tools and technical data to identify issues within engines and related mechanical systems
• Disassemble and remove engines, drivetrains, steering components and other assemblies to inspect wear or damage
• Carry out preventive maintenance including fluid changes, filter replacements, lubrication, and performance tuning
• Rebuild and reassemble overhauled engines and mechanical systems with precision and adherence to manufacturer guidelines
• Test repaired systems to confirm correct operation, safety, and compliance with roadworthiness standards
• Operate advanced diagnostic software and calibration tools to troubleshoot engine and performance-related faults
• Keep comprehensive maintenance records and adhere to safety, environmental, and quality protocols at all times

Skills & Qualifications

• Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent
• Minimum of 1-3 years’ relevant experience
• Solid understanding of heavy vehicle systems, including diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and braking systems
• Confidence in using diagnostic computers and interpreting fault codes
• Ability to work unsupervised, with strong time management and attention to detail
• A team player attitude with commitment to workshop safety standards
