Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to fault-find and resolve issues independently.
  • Full UK driving licence (essential).

Responsibilities

About the Role

NEOS Engineering are seeking a skilled and reliable Plant Mechanic to join our clients team in Wigan. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy plant and machinery used within construction, quarrying and earth moving operations, ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on mobile and static plant, including loading shovels, material handlers, excavators, dumpers and more.
  • Respond to breakdowns promptly to minimise downtime and keep operations running smoothly.
  • Undertake preventative maintenance and scheduled inspections.
  • Work on diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with company and industry standards.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Plant Mechanic / Plant Fitter working on heavy machinery.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to fault-find and resolve issues independently.
  • Full UK driving licence (essential).
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Plant Maintenance or relevant (Required)
