Position Summary:

The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, cleaning, and inspecting diesel and natural gas-powered trucks.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and maintain a fleet of trucks.
  • Perform welding tasks.
  • Contribute to workplace safety and health improvements.
  • Participate in company meetings, including weekly safety meetings.
  • Maintain punctuality and attendance in accordance with company policies and legal standards.
  • Adapt to changing duties based on business needs.

Required Skills:

  • Proficient with vehicle maintenance tools (hand, electric, pneumatic, jacking, safety stands, electronic testing equipment).
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Capable of reading service manuals.
  • Ability to prepare work orders and completion sheets clearly.
  • Work comfortably in various weather conditions.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Driver's License/CDL B preferred.
  • Tool supply required.
  • ASE Certification.
  • Motor and Air Brake Certification a plus.
  • Mechanical skills demonstrated through experience.
  • 2-5 years of experience in a transport environment.
  • Gritty, outgoing, eager to learn, proactive, organized, and independent thinker.

Physical Demands:

  • Use of motor coordination and finger dexterity most of the workday.
  • Handle objects weighing less than 40 pounds.
