Job summary

First Military Recruitment is partnering with a reputable client to recruit a Generator Field Service Engineer to maintain, service and repair a fleet of rental generators in the Bristol/South West region.

The role requires a mechanical or electrical engineering qualification, proven generator experience (FG Wilson or Cummins), a full UK driving licence, and strong fault-finding and customer-service skills.

Qualifications

• Qualified in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or diesel fitting.
• Proven experience servicing and repairing generator sets (FG Wilson, Cummins or similar).
• Full UK driving license.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned servicing and preventative maintenance on diesel generators.
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs on rental generators.
• Conduct site surveys to assess customer requirements and maintenance needs.
• Participate in the on-call rota for out-of-hours support.
• Maintain health and safety standards and keep vehicles and work areas clean and safe.
• Adhere to quality, environmental, energy management, and safety procedures.
• Deliver excellent customer service and build relationships with customers and colleagues.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering team.
