Job description

WB Power Services is expanding – and we’re looking for experienced Generator Service Engineers to join our team during an exciting period of growth.

As a trusted name in power generation, we specialise in the supply, maintenance, and hire of generators across the UK. We’re proud to be a family-run business, built on strong values and a commitment to delivering the highest standards of service.

The Role
As a Generator Service Engineer, you’ll play a key role in supporting our growing customer base by:

  • Carrying out routine servicing and maintenance on a variety of diesel generator sets
  • Diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical faults
  • Troubleshooting control panel and wiring issues, including component replacement
  • Performing Load Banking and mains failure testing as per customer requirements
  • Ordering and sourcing parts required for ongoing work
  • Submitting accurate and timely service reports
  • Coordinating repairs to minimise customer downtime
  • Collaborating with our internal service team to ensure seamless operations

What We’re Looking For

  • Time-served Generator Engineer or NVQ Level 3 qualified in a relevant discipline
  • Previous generator experience is preferred but not essential
  • Solid understanding of engines, alternators, control systems, and electrical components
  • Experience working in a mobile/field-based engineering role is an advantage
  • Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and occasional overnight stays
  • Willingness to take part in the on-call rota
  • Ability to complete and interpret risk assessments
  • Strong communicator – confident dealing with a wide range of customers face-to-face and over the phone
  • Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
