Job description

A unique opportunity has arisen within a new rental division of an established manufacturer. Due to the new side of the business exceeding expectations, an opening for a Diesel Fitter/Engineer has become available.

Hours of work: 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, with 1 hour for lunch.
Covering South Wales
Salary: £35,000 per annum. Plus Bonus at the end of the year.
OT is 1 1/2 Monday to 12 Saturday and double time after.
Company Van/Phone/Laptop. All PPE and uniform. Call out 1 in 5, £80 standby rate.

Summary

As a Diesel Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing diesel engines and related equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will utilise your core skills in mechanical knowledge, hand tools, and equipment repair.

Responsibilities
  1. Undertake repairs for the diesel driven pump fleet.
  2. Fault finding throughout the mechanical/electrical process.
  3. Assist with keeping new fleet in a world class condition.
  4. Prioritise and efficiently manage all mechanical engineering works to ensure that the customer has the best service and reliability, with minimum down time.
  5. Provide assistance with spares ordering.
  6. Provide technical support to the customer and other engineers within the company.
  7. Be part of a callout rota.
  8. Check drawings, designs, materials and equipment for conformity with project specifications.
Qualifications

The successful applicant will have:

  1. A qualification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
  2. Experience with large diesel engines, preferred OEM trained.
  3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. The ability to manage personnel on site.
  5. The ability to work unaided and as part of an engineering team.
  6. Excellent communication skills and the ability to stay on task.
