Job summary

CVI Infrared Optics, part of IDEX MSS, is seeking an experienced SPDT Technician to set up and operate ultra‑precision diamond turning equipment for infrared and visible optical components. You will ensure tight tolerances, high surface quality, and maintain cleanliness and process traceability throughout manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Proven experience setting and operating SPDT machinery or CNC lathes.
• Experience manufacturing precision components to micron/sub-micron tolerances.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specs.
• Proficient in using precision metrology and inspection equipment.
• Understanding of TPM principles and preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Set, operate and optimise SPDT machines to manufacture precision optical components.
• Interpret drawings, specifications and manufacturing documentation accurately.
• Manufacture components to micron and sub-micron tolerances and required surface finish.
• Select tooling, fixtures and machine parameters for production.
• Verify machine setup and process parameters prior to manufacture.
• Produce first-off components and conduct in-process inspections.
• Inspect finished components using precision metrology equipment.
• Maintain traceability and follow SOPs and process sheets.
