Job summary

ReeVR is seeking a Diagnostics Engineer to join our Bristol-based on-site team. The role focuses on CAN bus diagnostics, fault finding and root-cause analysis, collaborating closely with engineering and field service partners to deliver clear technical findings.

Applicants should have 3-5 years in hardware-focused diagnostics, strong CAN tooling experience, and excellent communication. The role requires full right to work in the UK and is on-site five days per week in Bristol.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with CANoe, CANalyzer or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of CAN protocol, message decoding and DBC files.
  • 3-5 years experience in diagnostics, technical support, test/validation or a similar hardware-focused role.
  • Experience with complex electro-mechanical or integrated hardware/software systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Confident communicating technical findings to engineers, customers and other stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach with the confidence to take ownership of technical problems.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse CAN bus traffic using Vector tools such as CANoe and CANalyzer.
  • Decode CAN messages using DBC files and identify fault signatures.
  • Diagnose hardware, software and configuration issues.
  • Decide whether faults can be resolved remotely or require field intervention.
  • Provide engineers and field service partners with clear technical findings.
  • Build knowledge around recurring faults and diagnostic solutions.
  • Work with senior stakeholders to improve support processes and workflows.

Job description

Salary: £40,000 - 40,000 per year

Requirements:
  • Hands-on experience with CANoe, CANalyzer or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of CAN protocol, message decoding and DBC files.
  • 3-5 years experience in diagnostics, technical support, test/validation or a similar hardware-focused role.
  • Experience with complex electro-mechanical or integrated hardware/software systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Confident communicating technical findings to engineers, customers and other stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach with the confidence to take ownership of technical problems.
  • Experience in EV charging, automotive, energy storage or power electronics would be advantageous, but is not essential.

We are a growing technology business looking for a Diagnostics Engineer to join our technical support function in Bristol. This is an on-site role, five days per week, offering a salary of £42k-£47k depending on experience. The role is hands-on and focused on CAN bus diagnostics, fault finding and root-cause analysis. We work closely with engineering teams and field service partners, and you will have the opportunity to help shape our technical support processes as the function continues to grow.
