Job summary

Hawk Hiring LTD in Chippenham is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician / Car Mechanic to join our busy workshop. You will perform routine servicing, safety inspections, diagnostics, and repairs to brand specifications using up-to-date equipment.

The role requires NVQ Level 2/3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair, a valid UK driving licence and your own hand tools. DVSA MOT Smart Card is advantageous. We offer a competitive £30,000–£35,000 salary, on-site parking and a friendly, supportive team.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or City & Guilds / time-served equivalent) with a proven track record in a professional workshop.
• Solid foundational knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, routine maintenance, and mechanical repair.
• Full UK driving licence and own hand tools; DVSA MOT Smart Card or F-Gas certification is advantageous, but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out routine servicing, safety inspections, diagnostic fault-finding using up-to-date brand equipment, and general mechanical repairs across customer vehicles to manufacturer standards.

• Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 basic per annum (tailored directly to your current experience and technical skillset)
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, plus a short Saturday morning shift (8:00 AM – 12:30 PM) on a comfortable 1-in-2 rotation
