Job description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Diagnostic Technician to join my client’s busy dealership in Exeter.

The successful candidate will be qualified as a Diagnostic Technician, with experience from either a main dealer or independent background.

We are looking for reliable, customer-focused technicians who are comfortable working to brand standards.

Key responsibilities:
  1. Carry out diagnostics, inspections, repairs, and services to vehicles, following procedures and ensuring the highest possible standards are maintained.
  2. Complete road tests and sign off all warranty repairs.
  3. Interpret instructions from job cards/repair orders, complying with repair instructions and manufacturer’s manuals, bulletins, check sheets, etc.
  4. Accurately report and record work done and tests carried out; immediately report any further work required or vehicle faults.
  5. Instruct the parts department on necessary parts for repairs.
  6. Liaise with customers on technical and product matters.
  7. Keep up to date with the latest changes in technology, techniques, and commercial developments.
Experience, Skills, and Qualifications:
  • A full UK driving license is essential.
  • Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a qualified technician.
  • Ability to achieve high productivity and efficiency.
  • High level of accuracy with excellent attention to detail.
  • Team player with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Self-motivated and customer-focused.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to deliver customer satisfaction at all times.

Salary: Basic £34k-£35k plus OTE.
