A well-established automotive service centre in Slough is seeking an experienced Automotive Diagnostic Technician. The role involves diagnosing and repairing vehicle faults, performing maintenance, and ensuring all work meets safety and manufacturer standards. Ideal candidates should have NVQ Level 3 qualifications, excellent automotive knowledge, and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent.
  • Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician or Diagnostic Technician.
  • Full UK driving licence (essential).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults on a range of vehicles.
  • Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and MOT preparation.
  • Utilise diagnostic equipment effectively to ensure accurate fault-finding.
  • Maintain detailed service and repair records.
  • Ensure all work is carried out to manufacturer and safety standards.
  • Liaise with service advisors and customers when required.

Candidate Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent (Level 2 with strong experience may be considered).
  • Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician, Service Technician, or Diagnostic Technician.
  • Excellent knowledge of automotive systems and components.
  • Full UK driving licence (essential).
  • MOT Tester certification is an advantage but not essential.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
