Job Type: 12 months FTC
Hours: 40 hours/week
Salary: From £28,000, depending on experience
Your role and responsibilities
Southfields Veterinary Specialists are currently recruiting for a talented Registered Veterinary Nurseto provide support to our rapidly growingdiagnostic imagingdepartment.
Your daily duties will include
Direct communication andco-ordinationwith the Senior Imaging Nurse, Deputy Nurse Managers, andspecialised imagingradiologists,
Assistingwith and performing diagnostic imagingproceduresto include:Computed Tomography,Magnetic ResonanceImaging, Ultrasonography,Radiography, and fluoroscopy. You will work confidently and solely withineach imaging modality,operatinghighly specialised imaging equipment,overseeingequipment performance and image quality,positioning patientsto ahighdiagnostic and clinical standard,understanding and resolving logistical and technicalimaging systemfaults,
Dailyoperational and organisational dutiesofthepicturearchiving communication systemto include imaging reconstruction,imageand reportbackupandarchiving,handling internal and external image and report requests.
Generalregisterednursing duties including, anaesthesia monitoring;intravenouscatheterplacement;drugdosagecalculation, handling, andadministration;blood sampling andlaboratoryduties;patientrecovery and, general cleaning and infection control.
Overseeing all aspects of radiation within your daily department allocation (x-ray/CT/Fluoroscopy).You will be provided with the necessary radiation protection trainingto allow a safe working environment.
You will be required to work a variety of early, mid, and late shifts and contribute to a 2:8 weekend and Bank Holiday rota.
