Job description

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Band 7 Diabetic Specialist Midwife to join our dedicated Diabetes team at Wexham Park Hospital. This full-time role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on the care and outcomes of women with diabetes throughout their maternity journey.

The successful candidate will be instrumental in delivering and maintaining a high-quality, woman-centred diabetes service tailored specifically for our maternity patients. Main duties of the job
  • To manage the caseload of diabetic women across the trust, managing time, resources and the clinics in which they are seen.
  • To lead in the running of the Midwife led diabetic clinics within the antenatal clinic and community hubs.
  • To undertake the role as link midwife with all maternity areas providing training and updates as necessary.
  • To be one of the specialist lead midwives of the obstetric diabetic team and liaise with the general diabetic team to provide ongoing education and advice to the pregnant woman with diabetes, their family and to other health professionals involved in their care.
  • This will include both hospital and possible community hub working.
  • To manage the care of pregnant women and give appropriate advice and treatment throughout the pregnancy.
