Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic, industrious, and flexible Podiatrist to join our progressive team dedicated to improving care for people with diabetes in Shropshire. The role is based within the purpose-built diabetes centre at The Royal Shrewsbury, with a satellite clinic at The Princess Royal Hospital, providing inpatient and outpatient services, including the MDfT service.

Responsibilities
  1. Assess, diagnose, and plan treatment for patients with a wide range of clinical and medical needs related to diabetic foot care.
  2. Work within the multidisciplinary diabetes foot team to deliver integrated care for outpatients and inpatients with complex diabetes-related foot problems.
  3. Provide highly specialist podiatry treatment for patients with active foot disease, including those with acute and chronic wounds, neuropathic, and vascular complications.
  4. Contribute to team efforts, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially in liaising with other healthcare professionals in secondary and primary care.
  5. Manage a high-risk caseload autonomously, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care.
Candidate Requirements
  • Band 7 level Podiatrist with a keen interest in high-risk foot care.
  • Good knowledge of the high-risk foot and confident in managing diabetes foot complications.
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and eager to contribute positively to the team.
