An established healthcare provider is seeking a dedicated Band 7 Diabetes Specialist Nurse to enhance the care for women with diabetes during their pregnancy journey. This role involves providing expert advice, education, and support to patients and the multidisciplinary team. You will be pivotal in developing the service, ensuring excellent standards of care, and working autonomously while collaborating with various health professionals. The Band 7 Diabetes Specialist Nurse for maternity will be a highly specialised, autonomous practitioner with a vision for developing the service women with diabetes receive during their pregnancy journey. This will span from pre-conception diabetes counselling advice through to antenatal care and beyond into the immediate postnatal period, where required.
They will be a key member of the Diabetes in Pregnancy Service, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to maintain and develop the service.
The Diabetes Specialist Nurse within our Maternity team will provide specialist care for a caseload of patients requiring specialist diabetes input during pregnancy and immediately postpartum:
They will work without direct supervision but within the multidisciplinary team and comply with Trust policies and guidelines.
