Job description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

This is a part-time post of 7.4 hours per week. Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours.

Could you work as part of a multi-disciplinary team committed to improving the health of people with diabetes across Glasgow? The NHSGGC Adult Acute Dietetic service are seeking to recruit a dietitian, for a permanent part-time post, to work within the specialist area of diabetes.

You would be expected to work as an integrated member in the specialist Dietetic Diabetes Team and provide a clinical service in the out-patient clinics for people in the West & South Glasgow area, living with diabetes. The post holder will be expected to work closely with the multi-disciplinary diabetes team taking a pro-active approach in the clinical care of patients, service improvement and pathway development.

The GGC Adult Acute Dietetic Service promotes collaborative working across all our teams in different settings and specialities. This enables and encourages the development and implementation of pathways, standards and innovative practice. It also allows for extensive peer support and opportunities for professional development.

Contributing to the dietetic practice placements in Scotland, this post will also contribute to developing students' clinical skills during their dietetic practice placements.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Excellent inter-personal and communication skills.
  2. Ability to demonstrate good team working as well as being able to work autonomously.
  3. Previous experience of diabetes.
  4. BSc Dietetics qualification.
  5. Registration with Health Care Professions Council.
  6. Membership of British Dietetic Association.
  7. PVG membership scheme/Disclosure Scotland.
