Job summary

Mansfield Park Surgery (Watercress Medical) is seeking a Diabetes Practice Nurse to join our dynamic team. The role focuses on diabetes care, patient assessment, and treatment planning under GP supervision, delivering high-quality chronic disease management.

We are a training practice using EMIS Web; the successful candidate will contribute to staff training, patient reviews, wound care, injections, and staying up to date with guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Practice Nurse with diabetes care experience.
  • Experience with EMIS Web or similar EPR systems is desirable.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • We are a training practice and use EMIS; strong teamwork is essential.
  • The successful candidate will consult with patients regarding ongoing medical and nursing needs.
  • Diabetes reviews include interpreting results, starting/adjusting meds, and promoting lifestyle changes.
  • Treatment room skills include ECGs, wound care, minor procedures and injections.

Diabetes Nurse - Mansfield Park Surgery (Watercress Medical)

Job Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Diabetes Practice Nurse to join our dynamic and forward thinking team at Mansfield Park Surgery

We are looking for a Practice Nurse who has a specialism in diabetes.


Main duties of the job

The Diabetes Practice Nurse will perform tasks prescribed and delegated by the GP Partners, working unsupervised to PGDs, agreed protocols and within defined competencies.


The Diabetes Practice Nurse will assess patients and plan, implements and review treatment programs. The Diabetes Practice Nurse will have shared responsibility for training and supervision of new members of the nursing team and colleagues.


Job responsibilities

We are a training practice, use the EMIS Clinical system and have a strong emphasis on proactive teamwork.


The successful candidate will work as part of the clinical team and be responsible for consulting with patients in respect of their continuing medical and nursing needs.


Diabetes reviews skills, to include:

Interpreting results


Starting and adjusting medication


Promoting lifestyle changes


Managing reviews and follow ups


Treatment room skills, to include:

ECGs


Removal of sutures/clips


Wound care/dressings


Contraception


Cervical cytology


Child and adult injections


Keep up to date with current guidelines and attend training updates as agreed with the practice.
